With regards to testing, they offer 1,800 private testing centres located nationally in conjunction with LabCorp, so you can be confident you will be well looked after. There is a convenient map located within their website and all you will need to do is input your postcode to see a list of available labs closest to you.

Excellent customer service is offered by STD Test Express and they are open for your questions and calls 7 days a week from 7am - 10 pm CT. 

Recent industry awards won by STD Test Express are the 2010 Silver Winner for outstanding web content and user experience and they also won the 2009 and 2010 Health Care Standard of Excellence Award.

Payment is completed usually by credit card and you'll be reassured to know that 'STD Test Express' will not appear in your credit card billing statement. You will be billed by 'APG services.'

By using STD Test Express customers can save as much as 50% of the cost of a doctor visit for exactly the same high quality tests. 

Private MD Labs is a competitor of STD Test Express but its website pales in comparison. There is no blog and very little in the way of useful information with regards to Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Whilst a toll-free helpline is issued, there are no details of Private MD Lab's opening times. E-mail is of course another option of communication. Private MD Lab's website is much more confusing than that of STD Test Express as the language is complicated and uses medical jargon. There are six different tests for Hepatitis B and most customers will need to ring the helpline for additional clarification. All in all, the process is slower, more difficult, the website has fewer resources on offer and the costs of the tests appear to be more expensive. There is also no specific time scale for test results with Private MD Labs. While some tests may be completed within three days, others may take considerably longer.

Getstdtested.com is another rival in the STD test market and it website compares favourably to that of STD Test Express. It has an easy to use interface and instant pricing information is readily available. There is a useful blog and I particularly like the section which helps customers understand the results of their tests. There is a wide range of lab testing facilities available and a convenient map to check the location closest to you. The biggest downside of Getstdtested.com is that they appear to be more expensive than STD Test Express. 

Getstdtested.com are somewhat lacking on the customer service front, offering a telephone line number with limited hours of business being Monday to Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm and Saturday to Sunday 9:00am – 3:00pm Central Standard Time.

Their website states test results will take between 1 - 5 days in duration. 

Both companies above do not appear to offer a free doctor consultation as does STD Test Express. 

All three companies offer what could be termed as an 'Ultimate STD Panel Test' and this works out at much better value than buying all the tests separately. All companies include testing for Chlamydia, Oral Herpes, Gonorrhea, Genital Herpes, HIV, Hepatitis B and C and Syphilis in their packages.

STD Test Express offers all of the above tests for $199.00.

Private MD Labs offers the tests, currently on sale, for $219.00.

Getstdtested.com offers the tests for $245.00.

When comparing single tests I have used Hepatitis B as an example:

STD Test Express offers a Hepatitis B test for $79.00.

Private MD Labs offers the test for $128.88 although it should be noted that this includes a test for Hepatitis C also.

Getstdtested.com offers the test for $90.00.

It isn't hard, considering the value and expediency of test results, to see why STD Test Express is a popular choice for clients.
